Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often about who we are, how our reports work, and what our services do and do not cover.

About JSP Hinters

What is JSP Hinters?

JSP Hinters is a trading style of Impact Marketing Network Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company Registration Number: 08600907). Under that trading style we provide introductory marketing materials and services, which principally means researching and explaining alternative asset markets.

Are you regulated by the FCA?

No. JSP Hinters is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The introductory marketing services we provide are not regulated, and we are not a registered financial adviser.

Because of this, you will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme in connection with our services.

Do you give investment advice?

No. We do not provide personal investment advice, we do not recommend or assess individual investments, we do not assess whether anything is suitable for you, and we do not manage investments or hold client money.

Our reports are educational. They explain how a market works, what instruments exist, and what questions to ask. They are not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

Do you introduce investors to specific opportunities?

No. JSP Hinters publishes introductory research. We do not originate, arrange, broker or recommend specific investments, and nothing on this website is a financial promotion of any particular investment.

Reports

How do I get a report?

Use the Request Report button on any report, or visit the request a report page directly. You will be asked for your name, email address, telephone number and a regulatory confirmation.

We will then review your certification and come back to you to confirm access.

Is there a cost?

Our reports are provided as introductory marketing materials and there is no charge for requesting one. Nothing on this website is a sales offer.

Do the reports contain recommendations?

No. Our reports explain markets, structures and risks. They deliberately do not recommend an investment, and they do not assess suitability for any reader.

Which markets do you cover?

Our published research currently covers gold, alternative assets generally, and UK property investment and development. Art, whisky and aged spirits, and luxury goods are in development.

We would be glad to hear which market you would like us to look at next — please tell us.

Self-certification

Why do I need to self-certify?

Our material is intended for investors in recognised categories. The self-certification asks you to confirm which category, if any, describes your circumstances, so that we can record your status before providing research.

What are the categories?

There are two:

  • High Net Worth Individual — annual income of £100,000 or more, or net assets of £250,000 or more, in the last financial year.
  • Self-Certified Sophisticated Investor — you meet at least one of the four criteria set out on the Self Certification page.
What are net assets?

Net assets are calculated excluding your main residence, any pension or pension withdrawal rights, and any rights under qualifying insurance contracts.

Do you verify my certification?

We rely on the confirmation you give us. We do not independently verify it, which is why we ask you to complete a certification only if you genuinely satisfy the criteria.

Neither category describes me. What should I do?

Please do not submit a certification and do not proceed with any investment. Our reports are not written for readers in that position.

Does certifying commit me to anything?

No. Certification does not commit you to any offering and does not mean any opportunity is right for you. It is a statement of your circumstances, not a decision to invest.

Risk

What is the risk warning?

Investing in non-readily realisable and/or non-transferable securities involves a high degree of risk. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise, and you may lose all of the money you invest. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

The full warning is set out on our Risk Factors page.

Is there any protection available if something goes wrong?

No. Because our services are not regulated, the protections that apply to regulated investments do not apply here. You will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and your investment would not be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Should I take independent advice?

Yes. If you are considering whether to invest in any market described in our reports, please seek independent professional advice before making any investment decision.
